I choose….

My life is full of choices.

I choose to get out of bed in the morning.

I choose to log into SL before breakfast (gotta work on that one)

I choose what I want to eat.

I choose what I am going to wear (I am much snappier dresser in SL)

I choose what clothes i like in SL to wear.

I choose where I shop.

I choose the things i do to entertain myself.

I choose where I go.

I choose to be a believer in utopia and Camelot.

I choose to see good in people when I meet them.

I choose who to talk to and when.

If I choose to go to a male’s only club its because i like the dynamics of the male crowd. Single sex/single theme clubs/sims have their place and provide a “safe” place to be who you want to be.

My point being – life either RL or SL is full of choices. Because i choose to conduct my RL and/or my SL in a certain manner just means I have made choices that are good for me.  It just means I choose to do things differently than someone else.

It means I expect you to respect my choices whether you agree with them or not, as I would respect your choices.

Our differences are what make us unique.

Ideally it would be great if there were no barriers in SL.  But as hard as we try, there always will be.

SL is our world, our creation. Unfortunately RL creeps in on occasion and ruins my fun.

I choose to be me. I choose to explore and experience all I can.

The thoughts and statements I make in this blog, are mine and do not represent the opinions of anyone else or any organization to which i belong.

The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feeling Groovy)

Video is here

Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin’ groovy.

Ba da, Ba da, Ba da, Ba da…Feelin’ Groovy.

Hello lamp-post,
What cha knowin’?
I’ve come to watch your flowers growin’.
Ain’t cha got no rhymes for me?
Doot-in’ doo-doo,
Feelin’ groovy.

I’ve got no deeds to do,
No promises to keep.
I’m dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me.
Life, I love you,
All is groovy.

Feeling Good – by Nina Simone

Nina Simone singing Feeling Good
Birds flying high you know how I feel
Sun in the sky you know how I feel
Breeze driftin’ on by you know how I feel

It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
For me
And I’m feeling good

Fish in the sea you know how I feel
River running free you know how I feel
Blossom on the tree you know how I feel

Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don’t you know
Butterflies all havin’ fun you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done
That’s what I mean

And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me

Stars when you shine you know how I feel
Scent of the pine you know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine
And I know how I feel

Paparazzi is hard work

As you may know one of my jobs in Second Life is to take photographs.  My current assignment is to stalk, oh I mean paparazzi, one Mr. Floyd Arun.  He is proving to be an elusive target.  I searched and search all over the Submission sim but no luck.  I finally found this cute motorcycle cop.

He wasn’t very talkative but I think he was undressing me with his eyes.  He hadn’t seen my elusive prey for several days.  He said he might be out of town.  I should maybe check out the train station to see if they might know if he was supposed to be on the next train.

I made my way to the train station.  They were not sure if he was scheduled on the next train or not.  They did suggest that maybe I could wait at the bistro next door.

I think Floyd has figured out I am looking/stalking him again and is in hiding.

Well search continues.

Oh and props to Masquerade Snowbear for the great shirt.  Hit him up in world and he will hook you up if you want.

Until Next time.

Thoughts on campaigns

I am reminded of a conversation I heard recently on drive-time talk radio.  I listen to Morning Joe on MSNBC on my ride to work in the morning because it seems in my mind to give a somewhat even balance of perspectives.

I was listening to a conversation with an author who had written a book about the 2012 US Presidential campaign.  I can’t remember who it was or the book sorry.

He was saying right up to and including election day, the Romney campaign and the Romney family thought they were going to win.  Their internal polling and all conversations being had indicated that to them.  The problem right there was that they were believing what the insiders and the pollsters were telling them. Remember Karl Rove’s now famous meltdown on live TV when Fox indicated that Obama had won key districts in Ohio that clinched the state. It appears that they believed their polling (which we all know can be skewed depending on type of question and how its asked and if the questions are being asked of a random sampling or just a certain demographic.)

In my mind the Obama team in the end won the election because they had the more effective ground game.  They got out and met face to face with people.  Kept the msg as one of hope and looking to the future.  They didn’t make assumptions about outcomes.

Ok I know there are some who won’t agree with me but this is just my thoughts.

Today I am reminded – Cancer really sucks.

I never met in RL the man behind Marcus Steeplechase.  Today our community learned of his passing last week.  I do not know all the details.

I knew Marcus in world and I can only assume the person behind Marcus was just the same.  He was a kind, gentle creative man with so many ideas and wanted to do good things for our entire community.  He put the community first.  Every time you turned around he was coming up with some new way to entertain and help us have fun in our SL.

One of my first memories of Marcus was going to the old Ironworks on that laggy mainland sim.  The theme parties were loads of fun.  Loved the regular pool parties and trivia nights.

When the big move to the Ironworks sim came about it was exciting.  The events became bigger and more grander. My personal favorite of the recurring events was Shop till you Drop.  Marcus began delving into theatre performances and at one point had an entire sim set to perform Teahouse of the August Moon.

I personally think that one of the things that Marcus truly loved in SL is the community.  He bent over backwards to do what he could to make it a better place.

He was truly one of the GOOD GUYS.

My thoughts are with MeatJockey and his family and to the SL family – heaven is a brighter place today for it gained one of our truly shining stars.
